Carolina Notes
• This was the fifth time this season two Tar Heels scored 20 or more points (29 by Armando Bacot and 21 by RJ Davis).
• This was the ninth straight win by the Tar Heels in which they have held the opposition to 65 or fewer points.
• The last time UNC held opponents under 70 points in nine straight wins since doing that in 15 straight wins in 2006-07.
• Bacot had a game-high and career-high-tying 29 points and 12 rebounds, his seventh consecutive double-double, the longest streak by a Tar Heel since John Henson had nine in a row in 2010-11. Seven straight is the eighth-longest streak in UNC history.
• It was the seventh time this season Bacot scored 20 or more (UNC 5-2 in those games).
• It was the second straight game Bacot scored 29 points (also vs. Virginia).
• Bacot is the first Tar Heel with 29 or more points in consecutive games since Tyler Hansbrough had 32 at NC State and 29 vs. Wake Forest in 2007-08.
• Prior to Hansbrough the last two occasions a Tar Heel scored 29 or more in two straight games were Antawn Jamison in 1997-98 and Hubert Davis in 1991-92.
• Bacot was 10 for 13 from the floor, the fourth time this season he made 10 or more field goals in a game.
• Bacot was 9 for 9 from the free throw line. The nine made free throws tie his career high (9 vs. Oregon on 11/29/2019 in The Bahamas). His previous best FT performance without a miss was 5 for 5 twice (at BC this year and 5 for 5 at Miami last season).
RJ Davis made two three-pointers in the first 2:11 after not making a field goal in 10 attempts in the previous game vs. Virginia.
• Davis scored 16 points in the first half, most he has scored in a half since he had 16 in the second half against Purdue on 11/20/21. He finished with 21 points, the third time this season and career he scored 20 or more.
• Davis and Caleb Love combined for seven threes, the third time this season they made seven or more and second time against Georgia Tech (8 vs Brown, 7 at Georgia Tech).
Brady Manek had four assists, which was his career high in four seasons at Oklahoma. He had a career high five in UNC's previous game vs. Virginia.
Dawson Garcia had a season-high 11 rebounds. His previous high was 10 vs. Furman.
• Carolina had 20 assists on 30 field goals. That follows the Virginia game when UNC had 19 assists on 28 baskets.
Leaky Black helped limit Michael Devoe, the ACC's leading scorer to two points on 1 for 5 shooting with no assists and six turnovers.
• Black also had four assists and no turnovers.
• Carolina is 9-0 at home this season.
• Carolina led by 16 at the half (42-26). It was UNC's second-largest halftime lead of the season (29 at Boston College).
• Carolina shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half, the first time UNC has done that since shooting 50.0% in the first half vs. UNC Asheville on 11/23/21.
• It was the fourth time this season UNC shot 50% in the opening half.
Puff Johnson played for the first time this season.
• Sophomore guard Anthony Harris was unavailable.
Kerwin Walton and Garcia returned to action after not playing in the previous two games.

Series Notes

• The Tar Heels are 31-6 in Chapel Hill, including 26-5 at the Smith Center.
• It was Carolina's 11th win in the last 14 games against the Yellow Jackets.
• The 23-point margin of victory was UNC's biggest since a 77-54 win on 1/29/2019 in Atlanta and the largest in the Smith Center since an 89-60 win on 2/21/2015.
