LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head coach Mark Adams has officially announced the signing of guard De'Vion Harmon to a financial aid agreement. Harmon returns to his home state and the Big 12 after playing last season at Oregon and the previous two at Oklahoma. A Denton, Texas native and Guyer High graduate, he transfers to Tech with two years of eligibility remaining and having already produced 928 points, 186 assists and 108 steals in his career.

Harmon is coming off a junior season at Oregon where he averaged 10.8 points, 2.1 assists (73 total), 1.3 steals and shot 36.7 percent on 3-pointers. A 6-foot-2 guard who started 34 of 35 games, he scored a season-high 21 points against Stanford in a game where he was 8-for-15 from the field with three 3-pointers. He finished the season scoring in double figures in 21 of 35 games played, including going for 19 points in a win over Utah State in the opening round of the N.I.T. before scoring 12 points against Texas A&M in a loss that ended the season. Harmon was the team leader with 46 steals, including a season-best four steals against USC where he also had 13 points.

Harmon finished the season with the Ducks with 51 3-pointers (1.5 per game), hitting two or more 3s in 16 games. For Tech, Kevin Obanor led the team with 48 3-pointers in 37 games. Harmon led Oregon in total minutes played at 1,101 and had a career-high six assists in a road win over Utah.

Prior to Oregon, Harmon played two seasons at Oklahoma where he averaged 12.9 points per game as a sophomore in the 2020-21 season after going for 7.4 points per game as a freshman. He scored his career-high with 23 points as a freshman against UTSA and matched it as a sophomore against Oklahoma State. He had 61 assists in 31 games during his first season in Norman before having 52 as a sophomore.

Harmon was a four-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports and was a top-five point guard in his class. He won gold medals at the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup where he was representing the USA. At Guyer HS, Harmon averaged 20.3 points and 5.0 assists per game and earned Class 6A All-State honors as a junior and senior. He was also honored with the District 6A Co-MVP after his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Harmon will arrive in Lubbock having played in 91 collegiate games (78 starts) where he is averaging 10.2 points, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 steals per game.
