COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 9 Georgia Tech volleyball cruised past South Carolina, 4-1, on the road in the Jackets’ final preseason contest on Sunday.

Overall, the White and Gold were dominant on the attack, building up an advantage of 20 or more in kills (63-43) and assists (61-39) over the Gamecocks. Also leading in hitting percentage and digs, Tech held South Carolina to a .095 hitting percentage on the day.

The Gamecocks had no answer for senior middle blocker Erin Moss, who spearheaded the Jacket attack with a match-high 20 kills at a gaudy .548 clip to go with her six total blocks on the defensive end. Making a splash alongside Moss was senior outside hitter Julia Bergmann, who tallied a double double behind 14 kills of her own and 18 digs. Junior setter Bella D’Amico orchestrated the offense for the first three sets, tallying a match-high 34 assists, while senior libero Paola Pimentel led the day with 22 digs.

Following the decisive third set, South Carolina bounced back to win set four, 25-16. The Yellow Jackets responded in set five with a 5-1 stretch that set up a 15-10 victory, sealing the match on top, 4-1.
