BLACKSBURG – Fully engaged in its offseason training program, the Virginia Tech women's soccer team announced on Monday its spring 2022 competitive schedule, featuring five exhibition outings that will serve as early opportunities for the Hokies to build chemistry ahead of their formal fall season.

Tech is coming off its best ACC performance since 2015, earning results from seven of its 10 league matches on the way to posting a 12-6-2 (5-3-2 ACC) record. In November, the Hokies (RPI No. 30) qualified for their eighth NCAA tournament across head coach Chugger Adair's 11 seasons at the helm in Blacksburg, defeating Ohio State before reaching the second round at seventh-ranked Arkansas.

On Saturday, Feb. 19, Tech will descend on Bryan Park outside Greensboro, North Carolina, where the Hokies will square off against UNCW (11-4-1, RPI No. 61) at 6 p.m. The Seahawks championed the CAA during the 2021 regular season despite dropping their league semifinal match to fourth-seeded Northeastern, 1-0.

On March 26, Tech will visit West Virginia (10-5-5, RPI No. 45) for a 2 p.m. kickoff in Morgantown. The Mountaineers finished in a tie for sixth in the Big 12 regular season table and did not concede a goal during their two postseason matches, exiting the league semifinal round via penalty kicks.

On April 1, Tech will travel to Liberty (11-7-0, RPI No. 94) for a 6 p.m. exhibition in Lynchburg, Virginia. In August, the Hokies opened the 2021 regular season with their 3-0 victory against the Flames, who placed second in the Atlantic Sun's East Division.

On April 10, Tech will again cross state lines to play Marshall (3-11-2) in Huntington, West Virginia. Kickoff between the Hokies and the Thundering Herd is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Finally, Tech will take part in a neutral-site exhibition against Tennessee (20-3-0, RPI No. 8), hosted by ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee. The Volunteers won the 2021 SEC championship and earned the No. 3 seed in Florida State's NCAA tournament region, advancing as far as the third round (round of 16).
