BLACKSBURG – With only three weeks left until Virginia Tech softball returns to Tech Softball Park, the Virginia Tech athletic department would like to announce the array of gameday experience elements that fans can expect when attending softball games at TSP during the 2022 Season.

BALLPARK ACCESS
Gates at Tech Softball Park will open 90 minutes before first pitch on game days.

TICKETING
Admissions to Virginia Tech regular season softball games are free with no tickets required for entry into the park.

CASHLESS CONCESSION STANDS
In efforts to improve the flow and speed of transactions, TSP concession stands will move to cashless payment this season and will require a debit or credit card for purchase. This practical adjustment, designed to minimize wait times, eliminates the exchanging and handling of currency as the overwhelming majority of concession stand purchases are already made via credit card.

Fans who do not have access to a debit or credit card should consider buying a prepaid card at Kroger in advance of the game.

Concession Pricing and Alcohol Sales
Concessions will operate similar to past years, with the fan-friendly additions that have been included this year. Premium options will become available for fans once the weather warms as the season progresses. Alcohol sales at Tech Softball Park will end at the end of the fifth inning during single-game matchups. If there is a doubleheader, alcohol sales will end at the end of the fifth inning of the second game.

CLEAR BAG POLICY
Virginia Tech's clear bag policy remains in place for TSP. This policy helps provide a safer environment for spectators and expedites fan entry into the ballpark. Approved bags are limited to:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12'' x 6'' x 12''
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bag approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap and no larger than 4.5'' x 6.5''
For more information, please visit HokieSports.com/ClearBag.

Vaccination and Mask Mandates
In keeping with the current COVID-19 guidelines set in place, masks will not be required outdoors at TSP.

Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will not be required to attend a home event at TSP as well.

GAMEDAY PARKING
Fans arriving to the park on gameday are encouraged to use free parking in Lot 2 near Lane Stadium or the Chicken Hill Lot next to Lot 2. Fans parking in public lots, Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. will need to pay to park using the university's ParkMobile platform. Click here to learn about ParkMobile.

For parking-related questions, please email parking@vt.edu or call (540) 231-3200.

THEME GAMES, IN-VENUE PROMOTIONS & GIVEAWAYS
Fans can expect a number of themed games this season, including a Luck of the Hokies Saint Patricks' Day series, youth team games, an Easter Series and more. Hokies Kids Club members and students will also have unique experiences at select games.

New to TSP at select games this season will include a live emcee for in-game promotions and activities. Giveaways this season will include Tech softball visors, t-shirts and holiday-themed attire at select series.

Hokie Kids Club Punch Cards
New this season to Virginia Tech softball is our Hokie Kids Club Punch Cards. During the first games of the season against Norfolk State and Syracuse, Hokie Kids Club members or their parents can visit the marketing table to pick up a season-long punch card. For every home game attended, staff will punch your ticket. Every Kid's Club member or parent that has 10 or more out of the 15 punches for home games will receive a Hokie Bird plush toy at the end of the season.
