CINK’S HOLE-IN-ONE HIGHLIGHTS MASTERS WEEK
Neither Stewart Cink nor 1987 champion Larry Mize were able to advance to weekend play last weekend at The Masters, but Cink was able to generate a memorable moment for himself by scoring a hole-in-one at the famed 16th hole on Friday afternoon.

It was the 24th in Masters history at 16. He shot rounds of 76-75 Thursday and Friday, but wasn’t able to make the cut. Mize shot 77-78.

STEWART AND REAGAN STILL WORKING TOGETHER
At some point, Reagan Cink will move on to pursue his own career path.
But right now, he’s just having too much fun working alongside his father.
Stewart Cink, 48, had a remarkable PGA Tour season last year, advancing all the way to the Tour Championship. He did so with his son as his caddie. The year included a tie for 21st at the Masters, and a return invitation to the major championship, and a four-shot victory at Hilton Head the following week.
“At some point, I have to get on with my life, but I’m having so much fun,” Reagan said Thursday after the first round of the Masters. Cink opened with a round of 4-over 76 on a windy and muddy day at Augusta National Golf Club.

MIZE EXPECTS 2023 MASTERS TO BE HIS LAST
Larry Mize says his rounds in the Masters Tournament are numbered.
The 1987 Masters champion said this week that he expects the 2023 Masters to be his final one. It would give him 40 consecutive appearances.
“I definitely won’t go past next year,” said Mize, who is the lone Augusta native to win the Masters. “I don’t think so.”
In addition to winning at Augusta National Golf Club in 1987 – which earned Mize a lifetime exemption to the Masters – he finished third here in 1994 and tied for sixth in 1992. His last made cut came in 2017.
“It’s time,” Mize said. “I’ll be 64 next year and I’m fine with that. It’s been an unbelievable ride.”

The Masters is the home of traditions. From the Champions Dinner to honorary starters to the par-3 contest, these traditions help time stand still on the grounds of Augusta National. The more things change outside these gates, the more they stay the same within. For the Brown family, a tradition lives on behind the 16th tee box that makes them one of the most televised Masters patrons.
On Friday, Lindsay and Laurie Brown could be seen celebrating Stewart Cink’s ace on No. 16. It’s hard to miss their floral get-ups. Did those faces look familiar? Because they should.
In 2019, the golf world was introduced to Lindsay and the Brown family and they didn’t even know it. CINK DEFENDS TITLE AT RBC HERITAGE
Stewart Cink returns to Hilton Head Island this week to defend his 2021 title at the RBC Heritage at Harbor Town Golf Links. Cink won the event for the third time last year (also won in 2000 and 2004), scoring a four-stroke victory over Emiliano Grillo and Harold Varner, Jr.
The 1995 Tech graduate and eight-time winner on the PGA Tour is looking for a boost in the FedEx Cup standings, where he sits No. 141 following his best result of the 2021-22 season, a tie for seventh at the Valspar Championship.
He is joined in the field by Chesson Hadley (No. 209), 2014 RBC Heritage champion Matt Kuchar (No. 46 after his runner-up finish at the Valero Texas Open), Cameron Tringale (No. 26) and Richy Werenski (No. 192).

HALEY GETS A HOME GAME ON THE KORN FERRY TOUR
After taking a break for The Masters, the Korn Ferry Tour resumes action this week in the Dallas, Texas area for the Veritex Bank Championship, which will be a home game for former ACC Champion Paul Haley II, who ranks No. 15 in the points standings to lead the Yellow Jacket contingent on the tour and is in position to earn a PGA Tour card if he can maintain his position at the end of the regular season. He has a runner-up finish and a tie for 14th to his credit this season, but has missed the cut in the last two events.
Haley hails from the Dallas area and attended the same high school as the newly-minted Master champion, Scottie Scheffler. The school also has produced a World Series champion in Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw and the current Super Bowl champion and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Anders Albertson, No. 56 on the Korn Ferry points list, and J.T. Griffin are also in the field this week.

DICKSON BACK IN ACTION AS GPRO TOUR RESUMES
Will Dickson, who made his first Korn Ferry Tour start two weeks ago and has a victory this year on the GPro Tour, goes in search of victory No. 2 this week when the GPro Tour resumes with the Sanctuary Open in Waverly, Ga.
Dickson, who resides in Atlanta, is playing his first full season as a professional golfer, having made history in Rhode Island by winning four consecutive high school state titles before coming to Georgia Tech.
