Tech company Chaos acquires Cylindo - Furniture Today

KARLSRUHE, Germany – Chaos, a photorealistic rendering technology, based in Germany, has acquired Cylindo, a 3D furniture visualization platform, in order to build a new end-to-end platform for visualization and 3D commerce.

“Cylindo and Chaos share a common mission of making visualization easy,” said Janus Jagd, Cylindo CEO. “We are thrilled to join Chaos to create an end-to-end platform for architectural visualization, 3D commerce, and beyond.”

Chaos also recently merged with Enscape, a leading developer of real-time rendering tech for the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. That recent acquisition should amplify the combined power between the companies to further build on the vision of creating a leading 3D visualization ecosystem.

Incorporated in 2012, Cylindo’s technology transforms simple product data into 3D photorealistic content that can be easily leveraged anywhere: product configurators and feeds, AR/VR experiences, interactive room scenes, and other marketing channels.

The platform provides an end-to-end solution to create, manage, and distribute photorealistic product visuals with ease. Home furnishings retailers and brands currently using Cylindo’s platform to deliver immersive 3D experiences and support their 2D product visualization needs include American Leather, Universal, Flexsteel, Room & Board, Jerome’s and Interior Define.

Cylindo will continue to operate as an independent brand collaborating closely with the Chaos team. The acquisition now brings the Chaos joint workforce to approximately 700 employees across the globe.
