SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Saturday and Sunday's baseball games between Virginia Tech and No. 12 Notre Dame – the remainder of the teams' three-game ACC series at Frank Eck Stadium – have been cancelled due to inclement cold weather, as announced jointly by both programs on Saturday morning. The games will not be rescheduled.

With snow coating the ground in South Bend overnight and still falling by late-morning, Saturday's game-time temperatures were forecast for a high of 31 degrees with winds gusting beyond 20 miles per hour. Considering wind chill, Saturday's feels-like temperature was forecast below 20 degrees.

On Sunday, game-time temperatures were forecast below 30 degrees with gusts again blowing stronger than 20 miles per hour. Sunday's temperature at time of first pitch (12 noon) was listed at 27 degrees.

Virginia Tech (14-6, 3-4 ACC) will depart Notre Dame (12-5, 2-4 ACC) with a one-game series victory after plating six runs during the ninth inning on Friday to come-from-behind and win the opener, 10-5. The Hokies snapped a six-game series losing streak against the Irish while technically securing their first head-to-head series victory since 2014 (albeit, not all scheduled games were played to completion).

UP NEXT
Virginia Tech is now off until Tuesday, March 29, when the Hokies travel to VMI for a midweek game in Lexington, Virginia. First pitch at Gray-Minor Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
